The Edition No. 20

China’s DeepSeek and MiniMax have won state approval for global use of their AI models, according to a social media account affiliated with state broadcaster CCTV, a week after Beijing proposed export controls on 23 AI technologies, Reuters reported. OpenAI said on Friday it will collaborate with Poland’s NASK National Research Institute on AI safety, security and technical research, including ways to evaluate increasingly capable AI systems and strengthen safeguards. On Wall Street, the Nasdaq edged higher on Friday as chip stocks steadied after Thursday’s AI-driven selloff, with investors now looking ahead to next week’s results from Alphabet, Microsoft and Amazon.
