The Edition No. 31

Anthropic amended its IPO filing ahead of an expected listing this month, disclosing third-quarter revenue of $17 billion, a net loss of $23.29 billion and about $895.4 billion in purchase commitments and leases, substantially all for compute and infrastructure, DatacenterDynamics reported. The New York Times reported that Anthropic aims to double its computing capacity from more than 3.5 gigawatts this year to about 7 gigawatts in 2027. An adviser to the EU Court of Justice backed Hungarian publisher Like Company against Google, saying Gemini’s reuse of press articles in its answers may infringe publishers’ rights in certain circumstances, while training AI models on such material is permitted, Reuters reported. Separately, French supercomputer maker Bull and Schwarz Digits, the tech arm of Lidl owner Schwarz Group, agreed to jointly develop AI computing services operating entirely under European jurisdiction.
